Leadership:
The following is a brief introduction to the leadership team at Hope 4 La Pawz Inc. and Amigos de 4 Patas. The role that each of these members play is totally voluntary. We are a small nonprofit that prides itself on dedicating donor dollars strictly to the care and adoption of rescue dogs in La Paz.
Charlene Angelo
Charlene is the president of both Hope 4 La Pawz Inc. and Amigos de 4 Patas a/c. Charlene has been volunteering in the dog rescue and adoption space for over 8 years here in La Paz. She is well known as a strong advocate of rescue and adoption as well as sterilization practices.
Charlene’s technology background is critical to the background work on our website. Marketing in this new age of virtual everything would be impossible without technology. We are fortunate to have her volunteering her time and skills.
As President, Charlene is the rudder steering this ship to calm waters. As part of the leadership team, she adds her experience from running several businesses in her previous career. If anyone thinks that running a non-profit is not a business, then they should think again. Dog rescue is an emotionally charged endeavor, and the challenge is to navigate to a place where emotion is minimized, and logic prevails. Charlene does that well.
Irene Phillips
As a board member of both Hope 4 La Pawz Inc. and Amigos de 4 Patas, Irene lends her sales and marketing skills as well as her copywriting skills to the leadership team.
Irene’s background in real estate sales and her training in copywriting are put to good use when launching campaigns and promoting dogs for adoption. She writes many of the fund-raising campaigns as well as Blog stories that you can read on our website. She is also responsible for social media in terms of strategy as well as content.
When Irene isn’t writing, you will find her planning a fund-raising event, everything from garage sales to galas.
Of course, Irene is also a rescuer and is often raising a litter of rescued puppies for adoption. She has rescued and adopted out more than 30 puppies in the over ten years that she has been volunteering in the rescue and adoption space.
