Clinic

Amigos de 4 Patas conducts a clinic and distributes food and preventive meds for dogs in our program every week:

In preparation, volunteers organize medicines and food for distribution. In addition, the casita where our clinic, office, food storage, and small store are located must be cleaned and prepared to receive the dogs on clinic day.

The day of the clinic, we weigh and measure the dogs, our veterinary team performs exams, blood tests, administers vaccines and medicine, among other things. Everything is “charted” or documented so that when the dog is adopted, its new owners have a complete record. The preparation and follow-up begins and extends well beyond the actual day of the clinic.
