Training
There are two ways to get involved in helping us socialize our dogs and prepare them for adoption:
- Participate in training sessions as a handler. This helps those who are fostering more than one dog. They can bring more dogs and volunteers assist as handlers.
- If you have experience training dogs and can organize and lead training and walking events, we welcome your assistance.
Locations:
- La Paz, BCS, Mexico
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend training sessions
- Handle one or more dogs through the walking and training course
- Follow instructions of trainer leading the exercise
- Use appropriate correction techniques and positive reinforcement
Training:
- Volunteer Orientation
- On-the-job training
Qualifications:
- Willingness to support the Amigos de 4 Patas mission
- Punctuality
- Basic understand of dog behavior and use of positive reinforcement techniques
- Ability to handle dogs on leash with other dogs, people, and children around
Time Commitment:
- 1-2 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with rescatistas to discuss behavioral concerns and training needs.
- Identify additional behavioral concerns and communicate them to rescatistas.
- Organize walking and training events.
Training:
- Volunteer Orientation
- On-the-job training
Qualifications:
- Willingness to support the Amigos de 4 Patas mission
- Cell phone, charged, with Whatsapp for communication
- Punctuality
- A love for dogs.
- Patient and enthusiastic.
- Ability to organize walking and training events
Time Commitment:
- 2-4 hours per week or more as desired
