Chepa has a few very specific ideas about what makes a house a home.

A comfortable bed.

A nice selection of toys.

A sunny patio.

Regular meals.

And, most importantly, a door that opens in both directions.

Because Chepa believes that outdoor recreation is wonderful, but sleeping indoors is nonnegotiable.

As the self-appointed Comfort and Happiness Consultant, Chepa has developed a daily routine that balances relaxation with just the right amount of excitement.

First, a little rest in her favorite bed.

Then perhaps a trip outside to enjoy the sunshine.

A short game with her dog friends.

A thorough inspection of the toy collection.

And, naturally, something to eat.

Chepa is a sweet, playful girl who can be shy when meeting new people. She likes to take her time getting comfortable, but once she feels safe, her affectionate personality begins to shine.

Her story began when she was just four or five months old.

Chepa was found limping along the street after being struck by a car. The driver hadn’t stopped to help her. Fortunately, a rescuer brought her home and made sure she received the care she needed.

Chepa underwent hip surgery, and although she still walks a little differently, she’s made a wonderful recovery.

She runs.

She plays.

She hunts for toys.

She simply leaves some of the more ambitious jumping to the other dogs.

After all, someone has to supervise.

Chepa has a moderate energy level and enjoys playing with her canine companions, particularly dogs her own size or smaller. She also likes going for walks, spending time in the sunshine, and relaxing in a very comfortable bed.

She’s already learned to sit, although the rest of her obedience training is still a work in progress.

Her ideal home would have a secure patio where she can enjoy the outdoors, plenty of toys, a soft bed, and a loving family who understands that she needs to be part of the household.

Chepa does not want to be an outside dog. She needs the freedom to enjoy her patio and then come back indoors when she’s ready.

And because of her previous hip injury, a home that respects her physical limitations would be especially important.

Chepa isn’t looking for a family that expects her to keep up with the fastest, highest-jumping dog in the neighborhood.

She’s looking for people who appreciate life’s simpler pleasures.

A little sunshine.

A little playtime.

A lot of love.

And a very comfortable place to sleep.

Chepa has already done the hard part.

Now she’s ready to enjoy the good life.
