We have some good news from La Paz that we think you’ll enjoy. More of our rescued dogs are finding families right here at home — and at the same time we’re reaching more dogs and cats through our Bienestar (Spanish for “Wellness”) program than ever before.

More dogs are finding homes right here in La Paz.

Something important has changed. Just a few years ago, most of our rescued dogs left Mexico to find homes in the United States or Canada. Today, Mexico is our largest adoption market.

That’s especially meaningful to us. More families in La Paz are choosing adoption — giving rescued dogs loving homes right here in the community where they were saved.

But adoption is only part of the solution.

Finding homes for rescued dogs changes lives. But if we want to change the future for animals in La Paz, we also have to prevent unwanted litters before they are born.

It was extremely hot and yet they kept coming with their pets.

Each pet, in addition to spay/neuter, received core vaccines.

These people walked with their cats to receive help.

Cats recovering from surgery. Eyes are taped shut to prevent them from drying since cats don’t close their eyes.

That’s where Bienestar comes in.

851 dogs and cats helped in 2026 — and counting…

Through Bienestar, we provide free sterilizations and core vaccinations for dogs and cats in La Paz and surrounding communities. For just a few dollars more, we can also protect these animals from deadly diseases while preventing unwanted litters.

No one organization can solve this problem alone. Tens of thousands of dogs and cats live on the streets or roam freely throughout La Paz — and thousands of owned pets remain unsterilized.

Cats have to be part of the solution, too. They reproduce more rapidly than dogs and growing populations of free-roaming cats have a devastating impact on local birds and other wildlife. Sterilization helps control their numbers, prevents unwanted litters and reduces their suffering on the streets.

We couldn’t do this without you. To everyone who has already supports our work— thank you. You are helping build a healthier future for animals throughout our community.

Together, we can make a difference — one animal at a time.

Thank you for being part of this change in La Paz. Whether you adopt, foster, volunteer, donate, or simply share our work, you are helping create a better future for the dogs and cats in our community.

You can be part of the solution!

Every sterilization prevents future unwanted litters, and every vaccination helps protect an animal from disease. By becoming a monthly donor, you can help us reach more dogs and cats throughout La Paz. Choose how you’d like to make a difference!
