Every Thelma needs a Louise.

Or apparently another dog with enough energy to keep up with her. Thelma is a happy, playful, high-energy puppy whose current philosophy of life is fairly straightforward: if you’re awake, we could probably be playing.

Toys? Absolutely.

Running around the yard? Obviously.

Attention from her humans? Always.

Wrestling with another puppy until everyone needs a nap? Now you’re speaking her language.

At the moment, Thelma’s favorite accomplice is her sister Louise. Louise tends to be the leader of their little operation, while Thelma is perfectly happy to join whatever adventure has just been proposed. But despite their famous names, these two are not a bonded pair. Thelma can absolutely be adopted on her own. She would simply love having another playful dog in her new home—or regular opportunities to make canine friends who appreciate her enthusiasm.

Thelma and Louise arrived together at a back door, extremely thin and undernourished. Whether they had wandered off on an adventure that went terribly wrong or someone abandoned them, we’ll probably never know.

Fortunately, Thelma isn’t spending much time worrying about the past. She’s a puppy. There are toys to destroy, yards to explore, humans to charm and approximately four million things she hasn’t learned yet. And that last part is important.

Thelma is very young and still needs someone willing to teach her all the boring grown-up dog stuff: manners, walking nicely, coming when called and occasionally accepting that the entire world cannot be investigated simultaneously. What she already brings to the arrangement is happiness, affection, curiosity, energy and an impressive commitment to having fun.

So Thelma is looking for a new partner in crime. Preferably one with a yard, a sense of humor and excellent stamina.
