Oreo is watching you.

Not in a suspicious way. Not in a threatening way.

She’s simply conducting research.

You see, Oreo is an extremely observant young fellow who believes that everything deserves careful study. People, toys, furniture, television programs, and particularly the mysterious relationship between chairs and hammocks.

Sometimes she just sits quietly and watches his humans, apparently trying to figure out what they’re doing and why.

Other times, she leaps through the air like a small deer.

We’re still trying to understand the connection.

Oreo is a funny, affectionate, intelligent puppy with a remarkable talent for entertaining herself and everyone around him. She loves playing with other dogs, searching for her toys, and fetching balls. She’s also an accomplished problem-solver who has discovered that with the right combination of head movements, body contortions, and determination, almost any chair or hammock can be conquered.

Why go to all that trouble?

Because that’s where the good naps happen, obviously.

And Oreo takes her naps seriously. She has been observed sleeping in positions that would make a yoga instructor question the laws of anatomy.

Her story began before he was even born. Her mother was found alone and hungry in a park and brought into a loving home. A week later, her rescuers discovered she was pregnant. After a difficult delivery that required an emergency cesarean, Oreo became one of seven surviving puppies.

Since then, she’s been busy learning everything a young dog needs to know. She already understands “sit,” “stay,” and “fetch,” is learning where to do her business, and even knows how to wait patiently while her food is being served.

Although we’re not entirely sure how someone who occasionally bounces around like a deer manages to sit so politely at mealtime.

Oreo would love an active family with children, other dogs, room to run, and people who enjoy teaching a clever puppy new things. She has medium energy, so while adventures and games are important, she’s also quite happy to settle down for some affection.

Preferably in a hammock.

Oreo is looking for a family willing to participate in her ongoing research into the mysteries of life.

The position includes games, cuddles, occasional television viewing, and the possibility of finding a small dog staring thoughtfully at you from across the room.

Don’t worry.

She’s probably just taking notes.
