Dante believes that love is a wonderful thing.
He would simply prefer to get to know you first.
You see, Dante is not the kind of fellow who rushes into relationships. When he meets someone new, he likes to observe, consider his options, and determine whether this particular human deserves access to his heart.
He has standards, after all.
But once Dante decides you’re trustworthy, the situation changes considerably.
Suddenly, there’s a very important matter to discuss.
Chest rubs.
Dante is a devoted enthusiast of chest rubs, cuddles, and the kind of affection that makes a dog close his eyes and forget about the rest of the world. He also appreciates a comfortable bed, preferably one that allows him to recover properly from the exhausting responsibilities of being adorable.
He’s playful with other dogs, enjoys their company, and has a medium energy level. He likes having opportunities to play, but he’s equally happy settling down for some well-deserved relaxation.
His story began in circumstances no puppy should ever experience.
Dante and his three siblings were abandoned outdoors when they were still babies, left on a blanket with no one to care for them. Two of his siblings did not survive. Dante and one other puppy fought their way through those difficult early days.
Perhaps that helps explain why Dante is careful about giving his trust.
But it certainly hasn’t stopped him from wanting to love.
Today, Dante knows “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and how to walk nicely alongside his person. He’s a clever, well-mannered boy who would thrive in a home with a patio, friendly dogs, and people willing to give him the patience and affection he deserves.
Cats, however, are not on his guest list.
Dante doesn’t need someone who expects instant devotion from the first hello.
He needs someone who understands that some of the best relationships begin slowly.
A little patience.
A little kindness.
A comfortable bed.
And perhaps a hand conveniently positioned for chest rubs.
Because once Dante gives you his heart, you’ll understand why he was worth waiting for.
