Who are we?
Hope 4 La Pawz is a Washington State registered 501(c)3 non-profit in the US. We operate in Mexico legally under the name of Amigos de 4 Patas. Together we operate one of the premier rescue and adoption organizations in La Paz, Baja California Sur (BCS).
We are a foster-based organization of volunteers who support on average 40 to 60 dogs at a time. These dogs are housed and cared for by more than 25 fosters or rescatistas. As rescue dogs are accepted into our adoption system, they are supported with food, vaccines, sterilization (spay/neuter), medications, and some veterinary services such as diagnostics and treatment.
95% of donations go directly to the food, wellness, ethology, and training of the dogs. We encourage people to rescue, rehabilitate, and foster dogs at the local level by supporting them our comprehensive system of care through to adoption. Our goal is to teach our fosters the basics of responsible pet ownership and they in turn educate their friends, family, and neighbors.
We promote the importance of proper animal care including sterilization (spay/neuter), regular vaccines, proper nutrition, water and shelter from the sun and rain. We work at the grass-roots level to combat animal abuse and push for a cultural change needed to stop the cycle of abandonment, abuse, and neglect. You can read about our system here.
Our 501(c)3 non-profit is registered in Washington State which allows us to process donations, execute adoption contracts and transport the dogs to the US and Canada legally from Mexico. Any donations received from our US donors are eligible for a tax receipt.
